Osteopathy

What is Osteopathy?

Osteopathic care consists of using a person's medical history, visual observation, palpation, orthopedic and osteopathic testing, followed by hands-on manual osteopathy. The hands-on approach aims to remediate patterns of strain and tension that may be impeding the proper function of the body. Additional guidance for lifestyle habits related to the complaint may also be part of the treatment plan.

Altogether, the main goals of manual treatment are to improve pliability, mobility and fluid circulation within the body. The rationale behind these goals is rooted in the basic principles of body unity, self-regulation, and the interrelationship of structure and function.

Movement Is Medicine

Our expression of movement is closely related to our central nervous system, which is how manual osteopathy may approach certain problems of the body. Manual osteopathy may be helpful for individuals experiencing mobility restrictions, postural problems, acute or chronic pain, sports injuries, post-surgical rehabilitation, or other issues associated with various conditions.
